Our Mobile Control Unit
The unit is a modified Ifor Williams Box
Trailer there are two dual band radios capable of cross band operation
and two seperate masts fastened to the rear of the unit. We have two
dual band co-linear aerials this allows us to run two nets if required,
one on 70cms and one on two meters, power is supplied from two 100Ahr
leisure batteries which are charged by solar panels on the roof of
the unit. We also have a generator to supply 240volts if required,
there is also a permanent mobile phone link installed with capability
to use different SIM cards to give us phone coverage in most areas,
and of course the usual creature comforts such as kettle, stove, coffee,
tea and a place to keep the biscuits.
